Corps Life: The Ultimate Aggie Experience

Midnight Yell Practice

The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets delivers to its young men and women the ultimate Aggie experience. It starts with all the assets offered by a world-class University with over 130 years of tradition. The Corps then builds on that foundation, guiding cadets as they learn to excel in their studies and in their lives.

The military-inspired Corps of Cadets program gives students a balanced and structured lifestyle that helps them achieve academic excellence. The Corps gives cadets the chance to master management and organizational skills and become leaders — now and throughout their lives and careers.

Choosing Your Path
The Corps of Cadets is best known for preparing its students for a career in the military. But each year, hundreds of cadets choose to pursue a non-military path through the Corps and beyond — earning an academic certificate in leadership that gives them a competitive advantage in their civilian careers. For every cadet, the Corps provides a defining experience that allows them to excel at Texas A&M.

Academic Advantage
Academic excellence is the top priority of the Corps of Cadets. All units offer volunteer academic assistance, run cadet-led scholastic programs, receive access to Corps study and computer facilities and hold mandatory daily study periods. Year after year, the grades of freshman and sophomore cadets match and exceed those of other Texas A&M students.

Giving Back to Campus and Community
The Corps wants all cadets to get involved. Many cadets take part in other campus activities, from Traditions Council to Student Government to Fish Camp. The leadership training of the Corps positions cadets to achieve highly respected positions in the campus community, such as Student Body President and Yell Leader, and to take leading roles in dozens of other A&M student organizations.

The Corps also gives back to the community. Each spring the Corps participates in March to the Brazos, benefiting the March of Dimes. Cadets also join fellow Aggies in serving the Brazos Valley through Big Event.

Intramurals
Intramurals add to the enjoyment of the Corps experience. Units compete against one another in a variety of sports, such as football, softball and basketball. Successful units advance to compete against other teams across campus.
